Xiaomi T series coming to China next week, T series debuts in the country
Good news for Xiaomi fans in China, the 17T series is finally making its way to the company’s native country. The 17T and 17T Pro were announced globally last week, and the base model launched in India only yesterday, but now Xiaomi has confirmed that both phones will arrive in China on June 8. This is a major thing as this is actually the first time the T series has ever been released in the country.
Both phones come with Android 16 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 out of the box. But underneath, they’re really different — the 17T uses the Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, but the Pro model bumps things up a notch with the Dimensity 9500.
They are also different in screens and batteries. The basic 17T boasts a 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED display (1,268p resolution) and a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W wired charging. But the Pro model packs a larger 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display (1,280p) and a hefty 7,000 mAh battery, as well as speedier 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
On paper, both phones have the same camera arrangement. There are four cameras including a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 32MP front camera. The sensors are different though – the 17T has a Light Fusion 800 for its main camera while the Pro gets the more powerful Light Fusion 950. That upgrade also allows the Pro model to shoot video in 4K at 120fps and 8K at 30fps.
