Brand reveals battery capacity as Tecno Pova 8 5G receives an official launch date
The brand has officially announced the debut date of the Tecno Pova 8 5G, which is set to launch soon. The phone will be announced in India on June 11 at 12 noon local time.
Tecno also offered us a sneak look at the design in a short teaser film. The clip reveals a tiny dot-matrix display embedded right into the camera bump on the rear. It’s quite hard to overlook the inspiration from Nothing, though – the mood is clearly similar between the old dot display and the pseudo translucent surface.
The Pova 8 5G is powered by a big 8,000 mAh battery, thanks to some language inscribed on the back. That ties it with the Pova Curve 2 for the largest battery ever in a Tecno phone. On that note, an earlier Geekbench listing indicates that the Pova 8 5G has one more thing in common with the Curve 2 – the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor beneath the hood. You’ll probably be able to choose between 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It is also said to ship with Android 16 out of the box. And it looks like wired charging is capped at 45W in its FCC certification.
