Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 will use both Exynos and Snapdragon chips
Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to be released with two distinct CPUs depending on the location – the in-house Exynos 2600 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Snapdragon version is likely to be available in North America, while other areas may get the Exynos option. Why . ? Exynos 2600 is costly to produce, reports say Qualcomm made Samsung an offer it couldn't refuse. The Flip8 is also said to be slimmer and lighter and the camera specs will stay the same.

Samsung’s upcoming foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip8, may come with two distinct processor options depending on where you reside. We already know that the Exynos 2600 could be used, but a new leak from a Korean tipster is giving us further details.

It looks like Samsung will employ both their own Exynos 2600 and a Qualcomm chip (presumably the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5). Which one comes to your phone will depend on your location – nothing new for Samsung, really. If history is any indication, the Snapdragon variant will almost definitely come to North America.

“What’s interesting about this one is the reason behind the split. The informant also says that the Exynos 2600 is rather expensive to manufacture, and Qualcomm apparently seized the opportunity to make an offer on pricing to Samsung that was simply too good to refuse down.

As for the phone itself, the Flip8 is said to be slimmer and lighter than the current model but the cameras are expected to stay the same.
