Oppo Pad 5 Matte Display aka Air5 battery life and charging test
Oppo Pad 5 Matte Display (Air5) sports 10,050mAh battery, Dimensity 7300 Ultra, 12.1-inch 120Hz anti-glare display. Battery life (Active Use Score) 13 hours calling (WhatsApp), 13 hours browsing, 14.5 hours video, 7 hours gaming. Good but slower than OnePlus Pad Go 2 with same battery. Charging is slow @ 33W: 16% in 15 minutes, 33% in 30 minutes, nearly 2 hours to 100%. Matches 66W Honor MagicPad4, but poor overall.

Battery life and charging tests are completed on the Oppo Pad 5 Matte Display (aka Pad Air5).

The tablet is powered by a 10,050mAh battery and the 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultra, and a 12.1-inch 120Hz IPS LCD is a noteworthy selling point on this machine. It's the Matte Display Edition, basically an anti-glare screen. It’s TÜV Rheinland approved for 97% reduction of reflections and 70% reduction of hazardous blue light.

It’s also effective in real life. It's easily readable in strong daylight, a good companion for some on-the-go web work.

Okay, next up is the battery life test. The Oppo Pad Air5 gets a 13-hour Active Use Score. That’s OK. That’s about 49 hours of phoning, 13 hours of surfing, nearly 14 and a half hours of video playback and 7 hours of gaming, just. We try making calls on tablets with WhatsApp.

The figures are strong overall, although not quite as remarkable as the identically-specced OnePlus Pad Go 2 with the same 10,050mAh power pack.

The OnePlus got an hour and a half more in the Active Use Score, about 13 hours more in the call test, 1 hour more in browsing, close to 1:30 hours more in video and 1 hour more in the gaming test.

The charging performance of the Oppo Pad Air5 is not outstanding, which is not surprising given its very mediocre charging speed of 33W (but still branded SuperVOOC for some reason).

It took close to 2 hours to hit the full 100%, 15 minutes to hit 16% and half an hour to hit 33%. On the other hand, the Oppo Pad Air5 managed to basically keep pace speed-wise with the similarly-specced Honor MagicPad4, which does have double the rated charging speed, at 66W.
