One UI 9 coming early to the Galaxy S25 series?

One UI 9 seems to be just around the corner. Leaks about Samsung's next big software update have been flying left and right. And while most of those leaks mention Samsung's latest flagships as the first to get the new OS, a fresh rumor is giving a lot of hope to owners of older Samsung flagships too.

Samsung has started internal testing of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S25 series

According to tipster Tarun Vats, Samsung is already testing One UI 9 on Galaxy S25 series devices internally. Vats posted on X that the test build is making the rounds – but it's encrypted and locked.

Vats also points out that Samsung is moving faster this time. The first internal One UI 8 build for the Galaxy S25 series was spotted back on June 19, 2025. That means this year's testing started about two weeks earlier.

When will Galaxy S25 users get One UI 9?

That's the real question, right? The S25 test build showing up two weeks early might be a sign that the stable version will roll out to Samsung users earlier too.

Vats thinks the first public beta could arrive as early as this month (probably toward the end), though an early July update is also possible.

No guarantees, of course. These early builds are meant for testing system stability and ironing out bugs. If issues pop up, it might take longer before a stable version is ready.

Bad news for Galaxy S24 series owners

In the comments of his original X post, Vats shares some less promising news about the two‑year‑old Galaxy S24 series. When asked whether Samsung might follow a similar two‑weeks‑earlier schedule for One UI 9 on the S24 devices, Vats suggested that's probably not the case. The early internal build for the S24 series will likely make its first appearance next month.

No official confirmation, but there's hope

Take all of this with a grain of salt. On one hand, none of this information has been confirmed by Samsung in any way. On the other hand, Tarun Vats has a mostly decent track record. He's well‑known in the tech sphere for leaking early firmware. So there's hope for Galaxy S25 users – they might indeed receive One UI 9 sooner than expected.
