Motorola Edge (2026) launched in US and Canada with smaller 6.3" screen
We were waiting for this one, but we got something else: a smaller phone with a 6.3” OLED display, the Motorola Edge (2026). Motorola US likes to do its own thing when it comes to the Edge series and the previous entry – Edge (2024) and Edge (2025) – had 6.6” and 6.7” displays, respectively. If anything, the tendency was towards bigger screens.
The Edge 60 Neo made it to Europe last year, but never made it to the US — as we stated, Moto US does its own thing. Now, there’s a new entrant in the compact mid-range space — the Motorola Edge (2026) arrives next week (June 11) at Motorola.com and Best Buy for $600 unlocked. AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Spectrum Wireless and Xfinity Mobile will also begin their own offers on the same date. The phone is also on its way to Canada, where unlocked versions will be available on Motorola.ca starting June 11, with local carriers to follow.
Back to the specs - the phone features a 6.3” “Extreme OLED” panel with 1.5K resolution. It boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and will achieve a massive 5,200 nits of peak brightness.
Not so amazing is the computational power on tap - the phone features a Dimensity 7450, which is a minor boost over the 7400 on the Edge (2025). If you can get enthusiastic over a 7% improvement in AI performance, this is your moment. The phone comes with just 8GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and even worse, just 128GB storage (half of what the 2025 model had).
Motorola promises three Android OS updates with this phone — good by Moto standards – and boasts Smart Connect. This is Motorola’s file and app synchronizing application, you can read more about it here.
The phone has two 50MP cameras on the back - a Lytia 710 (1/1.56”) sensor in the main with 4K video recording and an OIS lens. And there’s a 50MP ultra-wide with a 122° field of view and Macro Vision mode. The third 50MP shooter on-board is the selfie-facing module.
No, Motorola didn’t skip the telephoto camera — there is a 3x lens with OIS and merely a 10MP sensor behind it, same as in the prior year. This would have been a fantastic opportunity to offer an update from last year's model.
The battery is a 5,000mAh unit with 60W TurboPower wired charging and 15W TurboPower wireless charging. The wired one offers an all-day charge in 7 minutes while the wireless one does the same in 34 minutes. Sure, that might seem like a drop from the Edge (2025)’s 5,200mAh cell, but consider the size difference - last year’s model sported a 6.7” display.
The Motorola Edge (2026) uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for its front and has an IP68 (submersion) and IP69 (water jets) rating. Motorola says new device is also two times more drop- and scratch-resistant than its predecessor.
